Sara Knight [she/her]
HBSW, RSW
Sara is:
A Registered Social Worker
Registered to work with clients who live in Ontario
I’m a queer, lesbian, fat-femme, who knows what it’s like to need someone in your corner while you navigate the destruction and creation that can come with healing. Think of me as your hype-woman, cheering you on through every messy, powerful step of your growth!
I believe that healing and growth happen through connection- both to others and ourselves. I work with people who have learned to shrink, mask, or disconnect to survive and who are now curious about who they are beneath layers of expectation, shame, and survival.
Warm, grounded, and deeply human, I hold space for the laughter, grief, and honesty that can simultaneously exist while engaging in “the work.”

Quick Facts About Sara
Sara’s Work & Fees
I work with youth 14+ and adults of all identities. I am passionate about areas of life that most people avoid. Sex, sexuality and gender, desire, trauma, grief, and the ongoing impacts of sexual violence are at the heart of my work.
Individual Therapy - $120 per session
“I trust that our work together will feel different than the clinical spaces you might be used to. Whether I am your tenth therapist or your first, we will make sense of things together with less “fixing” and more becoming. There is room to ugly cry, talk, laugh, rage, sit in silence- all of it belongs here!” - Sara

I might be a good fit for you if…
You’re interested in trying therapy for the first time, or you have struggled to find therapy that feels authentic.
You want to talk about sex, desire, identity, or body stuff without judgment or awkwardness.
You’re fat or in a larger body and want a fat therapist who understands fatness as neither a flaw nor a problem to fix but as a lived experience shaped by culture, oppression, and resilience.
You’ve experienced sexual violence and you want to make sense of how it has shaped your identity, body, intimacy, and pleasure.
You’re queer, questioning, or somewhere in between, and you want a space that celebrates fluidity, contradiction, and becoming.
You feel on autopilot- detached, burnt out, dysregulated, like you’re moving through the motions but not really in your life. Maybe you feel too much, nothing at all, or anxious “for no reason,” and you want to explore what your body might be telling you.
You’re interested in unlearning the ways you’ve been told to perform gender, sexuality, or worth.
You want therapy that names the oppressive systems that often cause the “symptoms”: patriarchy, colonialism, hetero/cisnormativity, white supremacy, fatphobia, ableism, capitalism.
You’re ready to look at how trauma, family systems, and the world around you have shaped your sense of self.
Sara's Life, Family and Office
Outside of Positive Space Consulting, you can find me snuggled up with my three Frenchies- Nitro, Maddie (like Matty Matheson), and Glizzy (like hotdog) or road-tripping with my partner to the next weird attraction in North America. I love glamping, antiques, thrifting, oddities, my Nintendo Switch, and food that feels like a full-sensory experience. When I am not hunting down trinkets or good eats, I'm tending to my own healing through therapy, rest, and spiritual care.
More about my work…
I am passionate about areas of life that most people avoid.
Sex, sexuality and gender, desire, trauma, grief, and the ongoing impacts of sexual violence are at the heart of my work. Calling myself a ‘generalist eclectic’, I weave psychodynamic insight, experiential process, and parts work into a relational, client-led practice.
Our working relationship will be built on safety, autonomy, and lived experience over clinical rigidity, creating a space that does not demand perfection or performance, only presence and authenticity.
